It’s been three years since Michael B Jordan’s breakout into the mainstream with Creed — a continuation of the Rocky franchise — and while he’s been busy with films like Black Panther and Fahrenheit 451, it’s finally time for the star’s first ever sequel in Creed II

So what’s necessary to bring Adonis Creed back to the big screen? A workout routine, for one: “I’m not saying I’m old by any means, but the process of getting in shape was a bit harder for Creed II,” says Jordan,  “I’m probably the biggest I’ve ever been… But I knew I was fighting someone who is a lot bigger than I am, so I wanted to try and catch up as best I could, and I killed myself in the gym to do that”.

But it’s not just about the physical side of things. How do you embody th...

Jason Reitman has a habit of telling unconventional stories, and his new film The Front Runner certainly has some surprises in store for those who don’t know the true story it’s based on, and even for those who do. The Front Runner follows the presidential campaign of senator Gary Hart (Hugh Jackman) in 1987, and the fallout that occurred when Hart’s extramarital affaire was uncovered by the press.

Reitman doesn’t want to tell a story with simple answers, and is instead aiming for something that will get audiences talking: “this is a movie where you’re going to have a different experience from the person sitting next to you. You’re going to walk out of the movie and say ‘Who cares about the president’s private life and what they do in the bedroo...

Seven militiamen. One missing gun. One of them is guilty of a terrible crime, but can ex-cop Gannon (James Badge Dale) find the culprit in time?

Standoff at Sparrow Creek is writer-director Henry Dunham’s first film, a fact that may come as a surprise to anyone who’s watched it. The brutally tense, slow burn plot reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino or John Carpenter doesn’t set a foot out of place from start to finish.

On the other hand, maybe it’s not such a surprise. Dunham’s script (then titled Militia) was featured on the Black List, a collection of the best unproduced scripts of a given year. The script also won the Script Pipeline Screenwriting Competition, earning Dunham a prize of $20,000.

So what was the first film that inspired Dunham to w...

All that separates eight women from $150 million is a movie star, the Met Gala, and a heist plan that will probably go wrong at some critical moment. It’s Ocean’s 8, starring Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean (sister to Danny Ocean of the previous Ocean’s movies) and an ensemble cast of criminal characters that includes Awkwafina, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, and Rihanna. Their mark, the aforementioned movie star, is played by Anne Hathaway in what is being hailed as a scene stealing performance.

If you think it’s rare to see a blockbuster starring this many women, the stars of Ocean’s 8 agree! “Often you walk on set, and until the hair and makeup people come in, you’re the only woman. So the ratio is 1 to 45?...

He’s the big bad, battling a rag-tag group of super heroes (though some lack super powers) known for their quips, adapted from the world of Marvel Comics. It’s Josh Brolin as… Thanos or Cable? That’s right, Josh Brolin is currently starring in both Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. But how did he come to play both roles? Apparently, Brolin called longtime Avenger Mark Ruffalo, who told him that while he’d find it uncomfortable at first, he’d be blown away by the final result. It was Brolin’s wife, actress Kathryn Boyd Brolin, who convinced him to take Deadpool 2 seriously (not that the rest of us have to!). Brolin wasn’t sure it was the right move so soon after Avengers: Infinity War, but she told him to stop complaining and read the scrip...
